Rumplestiltskin Talk for Writing Story
We had a wonderful visit to Crownhill Fort today on Tuesday 3rd March. The children were wonderful and asked lots of interesting questions. It was very cold but a great educational experience. There will be lots of photographs to follow, thanks to Mrs Delafield's great photography.

Next term our topic is going to be all about Tunnels, Turrets and Castles. We are going on a visit to Crownhill Fort. Over the half term holiday you might be able to find out something about castles. Use the web link address below. Could you draw a castle? You might even be able to visit a castle. You could perhaps find a castle picture and draw it. Could you make a castle? Just some ideas to get you going.
Mrs Gruszka came into visit us with her baby Amelie. Here are some of the pictures. Amelie really liked our class and she did lots of funny things, like emptying our water bottles in the sink and playing with all the teddies.

Here are some of our descriptions of our evil dwarf character. Mrs Cresswell acted as our secretary and typed them up for us.
Some people went up to year 5 and 6 and read their descriptions of their characters to children in Mr Mann's and Mrs Collier's classes. Mr Mann and Mrs Collier were so impressed they gave them special pencils and pens.
We have been writing descriptions of characters. After doing some work on Snow White and the dwarfs we wrote descriptions on our own dwarfs. But our characters were evil characters. We then went off to Alder class and read our descriptions to them.

We have been learning about Florence Nightingale. Grace learnt about Florence in her other school and she dressed up as Florence Nightingale and answered some questions for us.
We are Badger Class. Mrs Cresswell is our class teacher. Mrs Delafield is our teaching assistant. On a Thursday Mrs Palfrey works with our class and does science with us in the afternoon. We also have Mrs Vowden working with us on a Thursday afternoon.
These are the pictures when Mrs Harvey came into visit our class with her baby. We all loved her. Mrs Cresswell even got to have a cuddle with the baby.
We have had several VIP visitors into school. Two very special babies came into school. First Mrs Harvey brought in her baby Romilly into school. This baby was just a few weeks old. Here are some pictures of baby Romilly in Badger Class.
Our topic this term is Memory Box. We are thinking about our own memories and our memories when were babies or very little. We made our own Memory Boxes for our home learning. Please share them with us on this site.

This term learning is all about memory box. We will be finding out about memories in our families and about babies. We started off by seeing if we could remember when we were babies. For home learning we collected together our own 'Memory Boxes'. Please share them with us.
Mrs Cresswell and Badger Class
Our present topic is called Under Splendid Sky. We have been learning about all kinds of weather. This has included finding out about snow and rain. We have also been learning about the seasons.
In the first part of term one we did lots of work on maps and mapping. We used a play mat and then drew our own map from it.
The seasons videos on the apple tree shows you the life cycle of the apple tree. The children who are Mrs Cresswell's Read Write Inc group used this video clip to help them write their own account of the life cycle of an apple tree.
We did some science on materials and sorted them in the classroom.
When we did work on time we played 'What's the Time Mr Wolf?
