Welcome to Year 4 - Willow!
We are a class of 31 children. We have a TA who helps us in the morning and a SCITT student working with us in Terms 1 and 2 and again in Terms 5 and 6.
This term our topic is all about natural disasters. For homework we have drawn pictures, made models, made a short film and composed a piece of music about a disaster. Come and see them in our classroom.
Everyone in Year 4 is learning to play either a baritone or a cornet. We have had 10 lessons and we can play several songs, including Jingle Bells, Mary had a little lamb & Au Claire de la Lune! We all think we have done really well so far!
This term, our topic has been all about 'Natural Disasters.' We have been following the news from the Philippines from the about the terrible typhoon, Haiyan, that shook the country.
Closer to home, we walked to Tamerton Foliot to see where the floods of November 2012 happened. For a time, the Village was cut off and one of the pubs, that had recently been refurbished was badly damaged.
We went to a local community college to have an afternoon of Spanish with a Christmas theme. We learnt colours in Spanish and some Christmas Objects! It was a lot of fun! We even got to have a tour of the college! In the 6th form centre where we had our lunch, we saw the most beautiful Christmas Tree!
