Autism Spectrum Condition Support Group

A group of parents and carers of children with ASC who meet for a social chat and organised activities. They meet regularly on a Thursday at 10am.

The A Team

This is a local parent/carer support group. It is well attended by parents of primary and secondary schools, from both mainstream and special schools. They meet on the first Friday of every month. The A Team organise extra activities in the evenings and weekends such as trips to Woodlands or swimming sessions. The group is run by one of the parents.

Parent Partnership is a service that gives impartial and confidential support to parents and carers in Plymouth. They provide a gateway to information via websites, telephone helplines and opportunities for direct contact with information and support staff. They can offer advice on transitions to new schools through the Choice Advisor, impartial support at meetings, support around the Statutory Assessment process and access to parenting programmes such as Incredible Years and Strengthening Families. This service supports the inclusion of disabled children and young people (0-16 years) during their transition into play, leisure and extended schools opportunities, wrap-around-care, childminding and early years provisions. Friends and Families of Special Children is run by a team of professionals that come from a range of backgrounds including social work, youth work and counselling. The group organise family activity days during all school holidays for all the family to attend and have fun together. The days run 10am to 1pm at Hannah’s Hub at Dame Hannah Rogers School, Ivybridge.
